The Fondation Biotech Montréal
The Fondation Biotech Montréal (FBM) is a non-profit organization that promotes, supports and fosters the growth and maturing of the biotechnology industry in Montréal. It also assists some institutes of the National Research Council (NRC) as well as academic institutions in the organization and implementation of international biotechnology events benefiting the biopharmaceutical industry and its community.

NRC Biotechnology Research Institute (NRC-BRI)
Established in 1984 and counting a personnel of more than 600, NRC-BRI is the largest research facility devoted to biotechnology in Canada. Through its Health and Environment sectors, in collaboration with its Bioprocess Centre, the Institute promotes, assists and conducts leading-edge R&D collaborations, services and technology transfers with the biotechnology industry. Every year the institute signs well over 100 agreements with Canadian and international partners.

NRC Institute for Biological Sciences (NRC-IBS)
Through the integration of its R&D expertise in neurobiology, glycobiology and immunobiology, NRC-IBS is bringing forward innovations that can contribute to reduce the impact of both age-related and infectious diseases. NRC-IBS carries out its research with partners from industry, universities, hospitals and other R&D organizations in Canada and internationally. NRC-IBS helps create real economic value for Canada by licensing its technologies to ensure their commercial exploitation and by making available the knowledge and expertise of its staff in partnered projects.

Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC)

McGill University, founded in Montreal, Quebec, in 1821, is Canada's leading post-secondary institution. It has two campuses, 11 faculties, 10 professional schools, 300 programs of study and more than 3000 full time professors. More than $430 million in research revenue are generated annually from a wide range of public and private sector funding sponsors. The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre on its own has more than 500 researchers and clinicians and close to $100 million research funding. Université de Montréal / Gestion Univalor, Limited Partnership
With 2 affiliated schools, a network of affiliated hospitals and close to $400 million research budget, Université de Montréal is Canada's 2nd most active university in research. Over 1200 researchers are dedicated to the advancement of biomedical and health sciences. Since 2001, Univalor's mission is to transfer to the industry the most promising research outcome from Université de Montreal. Over 300 technologies are available for licensing.
